The other night I decided to get a snap shot or two of Zachariah shaving. Time seems to be flying by these days and I just had to catch this little moment. I am becoming more and more astonished at how quickly or babies are growing up.
Zachariah started shaving when he joined NJROTC (Naval Junior Reserved Officer Training Core) It is only a weekly thing still since he really has more of a peach fuzz beard at this time but it was still fun to get some pictures of one of those monumental moments.

Still shaving, I thought we should get one of him in the act, not just covered in shave cream.

Austin has gained another rank an is now a Petty Officer 1st class and is the PT Captain (physical training) He loves his new responsibilities and enjoys calling out PT cadence, 8 count push ups, flutter kicks and the list goes on, he does deliver a good PT work out and seems to shine in this particular leadership position. He continues to thrive in his responsibilities and loves being in the NJROTC program. We feel this is one of the many things that has truly helped Austin grow and blossom in his self confidence and of course the leadership training is great. Being a leader to your peers is challenging, not to mention taking order of a group and making things happen.

Zachariah has been promoted to Orienteering Captain and has gone to a couple competitions. He is the only Freshman in this NJROTC's history to be on staff. Being on staff means you are an officer and are in a respected leadership position. Zachariah is really good at finding his way through the different challenges and courses and is really good at using a compass. He is loving NJROTC. Both boys are really excelling in being the up standing young men that they are and are truly growing so much, not only physically but socially, mentally and spiritually, our boys are just awesome young men. We are so blessed that they are our boys, and continue to make the great choices that they do.
