First day of school

The First day of School for 2009-2010 school year! We began the day with a little breakfast at home, Daddy cooked up some eggs. Then mom took all the kids in to their different schools. Here are the girls just before we walked Malia in to her class room.
Here is Malia at the door of her classroom. She found her name right away on the door. She is in First grade this year and is very excited about that. Her teacher's name is Mrs. Collins. Malia says the best and most favorite part of her day was 1. she didn't have to turn her card (she didn't have to turn it even once last year) and 2. She got to see all of her friends again.
Janelle moved on to Third grade this year which took her to Cutten school..here we have the two elementary schools in Cutten school district. The one (ridgewood) is for kindergarten through 2ND grade. Then 3rd through 6Th is at Cutten. We like this arrangement. It was a big day for Janelle, she is now at the bigger kids school and is excited. Janelle's favorite part of the day was seeing all her friends again, and being in class with so many of them! She also loved recess and getting to play. She also really liked that her teacher from last year is at Cutten this year teaching 3rd grade. Mrs Sligh has taught 2ND grade for 13 years and now is going to give 3rd grade a go, she is a fabulous teacher and Janelle is excited that she will still get to see her often. Janelle's teacher this year is Ms. Smith.

Here is Janelle in front of the bill board at Cutten..this is a big day!

And here she is one more time, in front of her class room door.

Zachariah is in 8Th grade this year and is in the highest grade at the junior high. He is looking forward to being the "upper class men" of the Junior High. He has several of Austin's teachers from last year and is excited about that.

Elise and Austin made it to the High School. This is a really big year for both of them. Elise is a Senior this year and of course is thrilled, this is the last day of her first day of High school! Austin is a Freshman and new to High School life, he has been a bit nervous about High School but is finding it to be much different than elementary and Jr. high, which is a plus for him. Both are excited to be involved in the NJROTC program. Austin is doing great with his running in Cross Country as well. Both Elise and Austin are in choir as well. Elise is in the all girls choir and Austin is in concert choir, it is so sweet and rewarding to see our kids developing the many talents they are blessed with. Austin has chosen to drop violin and orchestra but will still be in music through choir. He has a great voice as well and it will be great to see and hear him develop that even more. I anticipate a great year and look forward to progress and growth for everyone.

What teriffic looking young people. I am so proud to be your grandma and see the tremendous growth you have each made. You are all wonderful examples for me and I love you very much. Most of all I am counting myself greatly blessed to know I can have each one of you as a part of Our Eternal Family so long as we endure and remain faithful throughout our lives. Love you all, Grandma A
