Our sweet Elise celebrated her 18Th birthday on Saturday. We took the whole family to Fortuna and rode the hay rides and celebrated at the Apple Festival. We took a hay ride through out town stopping at different stops along the way, one of the stops was the 4 acre apple orchard. They still have apples that are producing that were planted there 4 years after the civil war.
One of Elise's gifts from us were two tickets to see one of our families favorite music groups Pink Martini. We had planned that either Royce or I would go with Elise and make it a special date night with her. I have been sick with a cough and head congestion and Royce was beginning to feel something coming on. We encouraged Elise to invite Malia to go with her instead, which she did. Malia is a natural born fan of Pink Martini. Malia sings all the time and very often it is one of her many favored songs by them. They both had an incredible time and truly enjoyed the talent of this band of 12 from Portland Oregon. In celebration for Elise's 18Th birthday and an evening that will be in memories for years to come, we switched our play list on here to just Pink Martini songs and hope you too can become fans of theirs. Royce and I were lucky enough to step inside the concert the last two songs and actually see them on stage..it was packed full of energy, fun and absolute incredible talent.
Royce started his new job at the practice a full week earlier than anticipated. He gave his notice that he would be leaving and was simply asked to not come in to work anymore since he is only moving 10 miles away to the other practice. Royce was busy yesterday afternoon and truly loves his new place where he moved on to. This opportunity with Dr. D'Amico is an answer that prayers truly do get answered, this is a blessing that we are deeply grateful for.
Change is all around us. The leaves are turning such beautiful fall colors and there is a crispness to the air, The holidays are upon us with so many memories to create, Dear Lord thank you for my overflowing plate!

I am so glad Malia got to go with her big sister for such a wonderful treat. She truly does enjoy their music and she can sing nearly as good as they do. With a few more years of training she just may join the band...uh oh, look out world, and new prodigy!! Love G'ma
Congratulations to your beautiful daughter. I do have to admit that I have trouble imagining you with such a grown-up daughter of your own. Where does the time go??? Your family is so very lovely, and I am so happy to see that. Sounds like things are going well and your family event was wonderful.
