Navy Ball 2010

Friday Night Elise and Austin attended the annual Navy Ball that is put on by the N.J.R.O.T.C. unit that they both serve in. Both Elise and Austin were excited for this evening and also excited about the guest's that they invited to attend with them. This is Elise's last Navy Ball and Austin's first. Elise invited her friend Vou Fonoti. Of course I had to get pictures and Vou was sweet enough to endure them (he hates pictures) and was actually eager to smile for the camera. Since Royce and I were the drivers, Vou was told to be ready at 6 by his Sister in law (whom he lives with) when it was actually suppose to be 6:30. Vou was ready early and waiting for Elise to pick him up, he almost seemed relieved when she got there, it was cute if you ask the mom :)

Next stop was to pick up Austin's date Alexis. She is a sweet girl and has really come out of her shell this last year being friends with Austin, Elise and their group of friends that they all hang out with. Alexis was really excited to be going with Austin to the Navy Ball.


A quick snap shot of the kids when we picked up Vou.


This is our neighbor and friend Melissa. We helped her get ready for the ball. Elise and I did her hair and make-up. Elise let her use a pretty dress that Melissa loved and simply had fun helping her get ready. I hope Melissa comes over more often, I told her I would teach her how to cook if she would like, she of course got excited and I am sure she will come over more. We taught her how to make grilled cheese sandwiches and cream of mushroom soup from scratch earlier this week, she said it was delicious and much better than a grilled cheese sandwich made in the microwave like she normally makes hers and "homemade mushroom soup is how people should use mushrooms!" She really liked dinner. :)


Just another shot of all the kids together before they went into the Ball to have dinner and a fun time dancing. Elise got second in the "best dressed" contest. She loved her dress this year, it was sleeveless, but with very little improvising we found the perfect solution and it looks like it was suppose to have wide ribbon with pretty lace for the cap sleeve. The first thing her date said when he saw her was "Wow, you look really nice" and then a few minutes later "You know red is my favorite color" with a smile on his face. They all had a lot of fun together and made good memories as well.
