On Saturday Royce performed the spring show for this year with his barbershop choir at our lovely Arkely Center here in town. This is the choir at the opening song. They sounded great like they always do and the theme this year was WWI. The songs were all from that era as well.
This is our visiting quartet that flew in from southern California. They were here last year too, their group name is The Velvet Frogs, I think that is a great name for a barbershop quartet. They were fantastic, boy can they ring a chord! They travel and compete all over so it really is a treat to have them join us to sing. We are already talking about them coming up for the fall show, which both Royce and I sing in at that time. We are not sure if Elise will be singing in the fall show this year or not, it depends on when she leaves for college.
Here are the Humboldt Harmonaires on their final song, it was a BIG crowd pleaser when that huge flag dropped down behind them. Hopefully Royce's quartet will be ready to sing for the fall show as well, he and his other 3 guys are really starting to "ring" together and will be excellent when they are ready to take the stage as an official quartet in our community. Here's to developing talent and confidence in that talent :)
