Good Times with Good Friends

Last week we had a wonderful visit with our dear friends the Bybee family. They drove to California from Utah for a nice vacation together. On their travels they came to our place and stayed for a few nights to see us and our area that we live. Here is (LtoR) Camille, Kendra, Emily and Rick Bybee. On this particular day we went out to the wildlife refuge and braved the terrible wind at an attempt to enjoy the wetlands that are around here. We all about froze with the strong winds coming right off the ocean.

Zachariah and a few of the other kids look over the bridge at all the tadpoles that were abundant in the canal.

Emily and I making tacos for dinner looking like we felt, wiped out from the wind!

On Tuesday we went on a field trip with Janelle and her class to the zoo here in town. This is a little gray fox sleeping in the tree at the zoo.

Here is one of our favorite things at the zoo, it is called a Lion Monkey. They were being a little camera shy this particular day but I managed to get a pretty good shot regardless.

This little bluebird was just to cute to pass up. He was not camera shy at all :)

The wise Owl that lives at the zoo as well, he has been injured and for him to live in the wild he would not survive.

Janelle and Camille pet a goat here.

Just a cute picture of the two girls having fun together.

This is the Carson Mansion, one of our historical buildings here. Mr Carson was a huge lumber tycoon who made his fortune on the lumber that was logged out of here in the mid 1800's. He had his home built and could look out at his mill from here. It is now used for a private club that has outrageous dues annually and requires a private invite from a current member to even join.

Here is most of the group down in Old Town, we are missing Royce, Zachariah and Malia who were at work and school at the time.

We had a really wonderful week-end together and truly enjoyed the time spent with each other's families. The time of course went to quickly. Emily and I have been friends for 27 years now. We have been friends for over half our lives! I am so grateful for my wonderful friend and truly appreciate her and the family for taking the time to travel up to the "Lost Coast" to visit us.
