LDS Church Article...
Dear friends, This link, http://newsroom.lds.org/ldsnewsroom/eng/commentary/the-divine-institution-of-marriage takes you to the LDS Church article and explanation to members about the Church's rare political involvement into the recent legal issues surrounding same-sex marriage and the destructive consequences which will occur if the definition of marriage becomes simply about romance. see http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/006/494pqobc.asp If the change to support gay marriage was just about denying gays happiness, I don't think the church would ever get involved, nor would I have a problem with it. I really do want people, even homosexuals, to be happy. But even more important is protecting my children and their children. The legalization of gay marriage is in fact a maneuver by the gay movement which will force churches or other traditional conservative organizations, by legislation of 'hate crimes' or other laws, to change and act in accordance with law instead of religious belief and moral freedom. see http://www.cbn.com/CBNnews/357084.aspx Lawsuits will come to force churches to hold and support gay marriages if they want to be able to give out marriage licenses for church sponsored marriages. Lawsuits stopping preaching about the destructive nature of acting on homosexuality are sure to come. see http://www.chalcedon.edu/articles/article.php?ArticleID=214 Forced adoption placements by LDS Family Services or other religious sponsored organizations into gay homes will likely force us to close our doors because we can't retain adoption licensure unless we comply. see http://www.weeklystandard.com/Utilities/printer_preview.asp?idArticle=12191 Education and text books in public schools (and some far left liberals want to legislate it even in private schools and home schooler's curriculums to 'ensure that hate and prejudice are eliminated in all areas of our communities') will be forced, if not allowed at a minimum, into pushing and normalizing the gay movement. see http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=33660 Make no mistake about it, this movement isn't about letting them be happy; it's about forcing us to change our morals and religious beliefs. It will devastate the family unit as God describes it, and as the most functional unit to maximize success in child rearing. I know that the links I've provided may be extreme and isolated examples so far, but they wouldn't have even been plausible ten or twenty years ago. The gay movement is moving fast and soon public opinion will sway enough of the population that we may never be able to protect marriage in a few years. Now is the time. This cause is too important to not get involved with and support. Don't let the liberal bumper sticker arguments of 'Why do you hate?', or 'If two consenting adults love each other, whose it hurting?' and other such simpleton statements play on your good nature or shame you into allowing them to change the definition of marriage and destroy our religious values. There is too much at stake. Obviously, I am really concerned about our future, and I've seen firsthand as a counselor the specific, real ways that the gay movement is undermining family values and family health. Polygamist groups, advocates of adult/child romantic relationships and human/animal love groups (yes they are alive, growing and organizing, underground cult/fetish like followings) are salivating at the legalizing of same-sex marriage. They are wisely waiting in the wings and shadows for the most part, knowing that they help their cause by being silent now because it's currently too shocking for the general population to accept their 'plight' of not being able to openly express their sexual urges. Once same-sex marriage is allowed, they will have the window they need to push for their agendas, as shocking to us now, as gay marriage rights would have been shocking to my grandparents generation. see http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/002/938xpsxy.asp Please support Marriage Amendment movements between one man and one woman. You have my permission to send this to anyone you feel would like to have this information. Sincerely, Jason Grygla, LPC Husband and Father http://newsroom.lds.org/ldsnewsroom/eng/commentary/the-divine-institution-of-marriage
