Here is one of the many flags that hung in honor of these great people
Elise after she and some of her other fellow NJROTC cadets presented the flag. Elise is a staff member in our NJROTC and is the Public Affairs Officer. She is responsible to write and produce the monthly news letter. She generates about 100 letters to get out to the students and also sends her news letters to over 300 recipients in the armed forces. She has to send these publications off to major ranking officers in each branch. She is wonderful at her job here and really shines with it. (writing is her nitch)
This is Brother Mac Gardner and his sweet wife Joanne. They are in our ward and Brother Gardner is a Koren War Vet. Awesome guy, he to was a public affairs person through out his life for the government, he gives Elise fantastic tips and advice. You sometimes will see something he has written in Boys Life and the Scouting magazine..(he still loves to write!)
A few Redwoods that I walked past this afternoon, they are so tall!! Truly amazing creations that our Heavenly Father created. Did you know that the average height of a Redwood is over 200 feet? They are the tallest tree's in the WORLD! They are taller than the Statue of Liberty and we cam walk right up next to one and feel REALLY little
And another Redwood, these pictures just don't do it justice, these Trees are so massive and I find it humbling to stand at the bottom of one and reflect on the freedom in which we each are so blessed to have. I am so very thankful for every Veteran that has served each of us and this Nation. We are so blessed to live in America
